- Swimming pools in family gardens or overhead swimming pools in villas and hotels are increasingly popular, especially in developed cities. However, this is also a very permeable item, the basic reason is improper waterproofing right from the beginning of construction. 2. Some mistakes can be made when building a swimming pool as follows:

- Only vertical pipe neck waterproofing, not horizontal pipe neck waterproofing (used for lighting, aeration, ...)

- Use expensive materials but NOT suitable for swimming pool environment.

- Do not reinforce the whole floor mesh and reinforce the corners when covered with a waterproof membrane.

- Do not apply mortar to protect the waterproof membrane before finishing tiles.

3. Sika swimming pool waterproofing process

Sika swimming pool waterproofing  has the effect of increasing the bond between the material structures, enhancing the waterproofing ability of the swimming pool through mixing with cement as well as some other auxiliary substances.

Step 1: Clean the pool surface

For the most effective waterproofing, cleaning the pool surface is extremely important.

You can drain all the water in the tank, clean and clean the surface of the tank.

Step 2: Mix sika according to the ratio and proceed with construction

Using sika in swimming pool waterproofing needs to be carried out in stages and mixed with different additives.

First, mix sika with water and cement to make a binder. Depending on the characteristics and structure of each pool, the ratio will be different. However, it is usually 3.5-5kg of cement for 1 liter of Sika water.

Next, when the mixture is well mixed, add golden sand and use the spatula to rub it evenly on the floor surface as well as the four walls of the pool.

Stage 3 is to use sika 108 to rescan the entire surface. After 7 to 8 hours when the first layer is dry, apply the second layer. After 24 hours, when these two layers are completely dry, the stone will be applied to the waterproof surface.

4. Waterproofing the swimming pool by the method of favorable waterproofing

- Remove all the water in the tank, carefully check the cracks that let the water seep through.

- Clean the surface, make sure there is no moss.

- Use a special pool waterproof glue for swimming pools to seal all cracks.

- Apply Sikalatex waterproofing additive to the entire surface.

- Continue to coat the entire surface with 2-component waterproofing agent to prevent water.
